CurrawongNewsletters

Stay in touch with the people who love what you do.

Newsletters for any business or organisation, from a band or a café to a club or a charity: events, videos and buttons that look lovely in every inbox, a signup form that looks after itself, and a list that stays yours. You send through your own account, at its price.

Made for news worth opening

The email your people actually open

An event is one block: date, place, picture and a button for tickets or bookings. A YouTube link becomes a still with a play button, because no inbox plays video. Pictures are resized for email on the way in, every colour is checked for contrast, and the whole thing has a dark mode for the phones that ask for one.

Write it yourself, start from a template, or ask the built-in AI, or your own Claude, to draft it in your style. An AI can write and send you a test. Only a person can send to the list.

Everything in one place

From the first signup to the thousandth send

  • Signups that confirm

A form on your website, or one we host with a Cloudflare person check. Nobody joins until they click the link in their own inbox.

  • Bring your Mailchimp list

Drop the whole export in at once. Subscribers, unsubscribes and bounces each go where they belong.

  • Send to N people, knowingly

A preflight that refuses a send that cannot work, then a button that says exactly how many people it will reach.

  • Your archive, on your site

Every issue you send can appear on your own website’s news page, in your own design, automatically.

  • Suppressions, enforced

Bounces, complaints and unsubscribes are recorded as they happen and checked as each message goes out.

  • An API when you want one

Transactional email with idempotency keys and signed webhooks, plus signups, templates and campaign drafts.

The rule everything follows

One record of who consented

Contacts are never pushed into a provider’s audience, and a provider’s own campaign features are never used. That is what makes these three things true.

  1. Switching provider does not touch your list.Verify your domain at the new one and repoint. The audience, the history and the unsubscribes are unchanged, because the data never left.
  2. An unsubscribe has exactly one home. The moment a contact exists here and in a provider’s audience, every unsubscribe, edit and deletion has two homes, and they drift apart.
  3. Every campaign email can be unsubscribed from.A personal link, the one-click headers mailbox providers expect, and your postal address. Campaign mail without them is refused.

Not built

What it doesn’t do yet

  • No automationsNo “joined the list → send A, wait three days, send B”. A person launches every campaign.
  • No scheduled sendsLaunch is immediate.
  • No segmentation by attributeA campaign goes to a whole list, or to its engaged people, not to a query like “everyone in Sydney”.
  • No per-list preferencesUnsubscribing stops all campaign mail from that organisation, not one list.

What it costs

$0.10 US per 1,000 emails, on your own Amazon SES account

That is Amazon’s own price, and Amazon bills it to your AWS account. There is no per-contact and no per-seat charge here, which makes it roughly a tenth of the newsletter tools that also want to hold your list. Sending through Resend, Mailjet or Brevo instead? Then you pay that service’s own plan. SES takes a little setting up: an AWS user and a request to leave its sandbox. The signing records and the whole bounce chain are set up for you.
